Enriching
Enrolling in the Masters in Cognitive Science program was truly a blessing for someone as curious as me. After working in the field of AI, I was drawn to this program because I wanted to grasp the bigger picture. I yearned to understand human cognition and intelligence on a deeper level and explore the philosophical aspects surrounding AI and its origins. This program offered exactly that, with courses covering linguistics, philosophy and my personal favorites - cognitive neuroscience, computation and cognition.
Throughout my time in the program, I had many interesting discussions with professors and peers from different backgrounds. I also had the chance to attend lectures by experts in the field and interact with them, which was truly inspiring. The program's interdisciplinary approach fueled my curiosity and expanded my outlook.
Amidst all the enriching experiences, I found myself drawn to a challenging topic of the neuroscience of mind wandering. With the unwavering support and guidance of my masters project advisors, I embarked on a research project in this area. The masters project not only enhanced my technical skills in brain imaging and AI tools but also taught me valuable lessons in research methodology, from designing questions to presenting findings. This deepened my appreciation for those captivating brain images and use of AI in neuroscience.
Overall, my time in the Masters in Cognitive Science program was transformative. It sparked a deep interest in the intersection of AI and cognition and equipped me with the skills and knowledge to pursue my passion in this field.
